Synopsis

In his village, Ronju is known as a magician—a title he holds with immense pride, despite only knowing basic hand tricks passed down from his late father-in-law, Jamshed. Living in Jamshed’s house with his wife, Moriyom, Ronju performs at local markets to make a living. To Moriyom, however, Ronju is merely a trickster. Both carry the unspoken grief of losing their five-year-old daughter, a tragedy that drives Moriyom to find solace in nature and believe her deceased father lives on as a tree.

When Ronju is challenged to perform a real “decapitation magic trick”—without illusions—his ego drives him to accept. Consumed by obsession, he searches for the secret, eventually uncovering an “infinity box” that Moriyom reawakens. Desperate for the secret spell, Ronju gives Moriyom an ultimatum: teach him the magic, or he will end his life in the ritual room. Moriyom yields, offering her own neck under his blade at the Helatoli school field, teaching him a final lesson: “Love is the greatest magic.” Blinded by his ambition, Ronju cuts her throat and chants the spell, believing she has awakened—while the crowd watches in horror at the tragic reality.
